PTE Core test dates and booking

PTE Core has no set national dates: you book a day and time at an authorised Pearson test centre, with frequent dates and some last-minute places, and results usually arrive within two business days.

How to book PTE Core

Create a myPTE account on Pearson's site; bookings, results and score sharing are all managed there.
Search for PTE Core at a test centre near you (Pearson lists more than 500 centres worldwide). PTE Core cannot be taken at home.
Choose a date and time and pay the fee shown for your country; prices vary by country.
Take the test at the centre: about two hours on a computer, with the identity document your booking confirmation asks for.
When the result is ready, share it with IRCC through myPTE or by giving your Score Report Code; IRCC does not accept a paper or PDF score report.

Results, validity and rescheduling

Most results arrive within two business days; some take up to five. Pearson emails you when the Score Report is ready.
Scores are valid for two years from the test date. For Express Entry, IRCC asks for results less than two years old when you create your profile and when you apply.
You can reschedule free of charge up to 14 days before the test.
Cancelling 14 days or more before the test gives a full refund, 8 to 13 days before gives 50%, and under 7 days gives no refund, unless Pearson decides otherwise.
IRCC accepts PTE Core for economic immigration, alongside CELPIP and IELTS General Training. For citizenship, applicants aged 18 to 54 need CLB 4 in speaking and listening.
