About CELPIP-General
CELPIP-General is an English test in Canadian English, accepted by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada for permanent residence and citizenship. All four skills are taken on a computer in one sitting of under three hours.
Speaking is recorded through a headset; there is no examiner in the room. Writing is typed.
Each skill is given a CELPIP level, and levels 3 to 12 correspond one to one to Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) levels 3 to 12. IRCC looks at the level in each skill; there is no total that counts.
A shorter form, CELPIP-General LS, tests only listening and speaking and is used for citizenship.
